  2. Fond memories of Pastor Bob serving in the WA conference Much respected & loved Worker, Friend & Gentleman

  3. A true man of God, with all the attributes of a most friendly gentleman, always to be respected. A great worker for many a youth that was a member of the SDA church. Condolences to all family members.

  4. Bob was a beautiful soul who displayed dignity and respect for all who came in contact with him. Always humble, always deeply caring of others, and always an example of us all.

  5. Privileged to have Bob as Youth Director when I was a teen in NQ. Saw him on occasion as TTUC Youth Director. Was honoured to be his pastor for a few years at Capalaba Church and he was a great blessing to me there. I expected he would lead in Roanne’s wedding – but he just wanted to be the father of the bride. He sought me out to lead at Noreen’s funeral which I was blessed to do. A true man of God. May God’s blessings be with all the family members at this time. Meanwhile we anticipate that great and glorious day when Jesus returns.

  6. May you rest in peace with Noreen until the coming of the Lord. I appreciated all that you had said to me before God had taken you.
God Bless and see you in the Morning.
    Your loving Sister, Winsome

  7. I had the great privilege of meeting Pastor Bob on several occasions when he would periodically preach at the International Christian Church in Upper Mount Gravatt. He exuded warmth and kindness. I saw in him a real tangible example of how to live with Christ-like love. His dedication to preaching the Gospel, his sincerity, his generosity, his selflessness we will not forget. He led by example. He is sorely missed by our congregation. His impact transcends generations, cultures and nationalities, more than he would ever have imagined. I am grateful to have come in the presence of an angel who walked amongst us on Earth. Condolences to his family. God bless, Pastor Bob.

  9. I remember Pr Possingham as a young girl at Hervey Bay. (Shirley Harvey). I’ve always loved his broad infectious smile and his love for God and made my decision to follow God as a 14 year old at a youth camp.
My prayers For the families. Heaven can’t come soon enough.
    Blessings, Shirley. 🦋

  10. My earliest recollections of Pastor Possingham were while I was Pathfinder Leader in Biloela around 1972-3. I corresponded with him by snail mail over the Pathfinder Day being moved further away from us, moved from Maranathur, Yandina to Watson Park Convention Centre. His reply was fair and respectful. My next encounter was the 1975 New Zealand Tour where I came to know and respect his loving leadership. After that we met in several places but truly the highlight of our association was on Sunday, 28 June, 1998 when he officiated at the wedding of Lois and myself where he said,” What are you doing with this lady. I just married her.” He touched the lives of many that day. Even an atheist who disliked weddings was impressed. I am sorry I cannot be there today but was blessed while attending the 50 year reunion of the New Zealand trip.
Condolences to the family on this day . Remember Pastor Possingham’s goal for all was to have a greater reunion in Heaven. God bless. Jim Mc.
P.S. If it is possible could a service folder be emailed to me at the above email address. Thank you.

  11. First of all, my deepest condolences to Pastor Bob’s children and grandchildren. Today must have been very hard for you all as you have said goodbye to the last remaining parent. Unfortunately you are now members of the `orphan’ label that a lot of us have also joined. Once thing I know is that their legacy will live on through you all until Jesus returns.
My association with Possy goes back to the mid 80’s to mid 90’s. It was an honour to be called one of his`girls’ as all the Youth Secretaries of the TTUC were affectionately referred. When I needed help, all I had to do was ring or write in those days and he would reply. Whenever I would answer the phone there would be the customary ‘Yeh. How’re goin’ good looking?’ I was always ready to hand him back to Reception thinking that he had the wrong number.
Whenever we had a programme and he was the guest speaker, he would come a little earlier to help with the putting together of the materials for the weekend. I will never, ever forget his ministry to me personally. Being one of the `single’ Youth Secretary’s’ he had a special interest in my future. Your final Camporee before your retirement the ‘Make a Difference’ at Stuarts Point was a special one. We, as a Conference, were able to celebrate both Possy and Noreen for their ministry to the young people of the Union. It was there that I was able to relieve him of praying for a husband as I came bearing news of an engagement over the year end. As a newly engaged person, he made a note to come and tell me that I should use the phone booth every night to ring Glenn. I even remember being in the booth one night when it was starting to storm and he came up behind me to say that I should cut it short as lightening was close by – wanting to make sure that I made it to the altar.
I could go on and on but I think when anyone hears the name ‘Possy’ or Pastor Pos we would all concur that he never ever forgot a face and was able to put a name to that face. He had such a personable ministry and he lived it. His last Camporee in 1995 was so fitting being that he and your Mum were present and we were able to celebrate them both as they truly taught us to Make a Difference (the theme for that Camporee). I speak for all the Youth Directors, Youth Leaders, District Directors, Directors, Counsellors and Pathfinders who have been blessed to have known Possy and have been blessed by his ministry that we will miss him but have the assurance of seeing him again. Until then, thank you for sharing your Dad with us and the sacrifices that you made so that he and your Mum could serve with a heart for God that touched us.
    Marantha.
